Marc Schweig studied computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence, IT security and cryptography at Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken. He wrote his bachelor thesis under Professor Michael Backes and Professor Andreas Zeller on the subject of risk assessment of Android applications, which he tested and evaluated using machine learning and static analysis. In the course of his thesis, he was recruited as a developer by the managing director of the former Backes SRT GmbH. He then completed his master’s degree with Professor Zeller and Dr. Sven Bugiel with his work on the predictability of optimizable code. During this time he took over the management of research and development in the company, which later also included the security audits. He held this position until he took over the role of managing director in November 2019.
